Job Description
- Build, enhance, and maintain scalable data pipelines across enterprise systems using Azure and Databricks.
- Implement data quality controls and monitoring to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Develop and manage data models that support analytics, reporting, and business insights.
- Drive data governance across cataloguing, lineage, access controls, and compliance.
- Optimise Delta Lake performance, data workflows, cluster usage, and platform costs.
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps and Databricks LakeFlow Jobs.
- Oversee platform performance, capacity planning, and routine operational housekeeping.
- Support AI/ML deployment through feature engineering and inference pipeline enablement.
- Work closely with business teams to clarify requirements and support reporting needs.
The Successful Applicant
- The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of data engineering experience with strong capabilities in data integration, modelling, governance, and optimisation. You bring hands-on Azure and Databricks expertise, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and advanced PySpark.
- You are skilled in Python (PySpark) and SQL, with experience across relational and NoSQL databases. You are confident in CI/CD, version control, and automated deployments using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- You understand best practices in data security, lineage, metadata, and quality management. Experience supporting AI/ML workflows is advantageous. You work in a structured, collaborative manner and can translate business needs into scalable, reliable engineering solutions.
