The role
As a Senior Data Consultant, you'll work directly with clients to understand their business problems and turn them into data solutions that get used. You'll design and build models, pipelines and dashboards, and be a trusted technical voice for the client throughout the project.
What you'll do
- Understand the business: Work with client stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business challenges into technical specifications.
- Design and build solutions: Develop data models, pipelines and transformations in the client's data stack (dbt, BigQuery, Snowflake and similar) that are scalable, fast and easy to maintain.
- Train and Educate: Educate customers on best practices and the latest advances in the industry
- Deliver insights: Build dashboards and data applications, especially in Looker, so clients can explore their data and act on it.
- Own your workstreams: Manage your scope, timelines and deliverables, and flag risks early.
- Support pre-sales: Join client calls, help scope work and contribute to proposals when needed.
- Keep data safe: Follow best practice on data governance, security and privacy in everything you build.
- Communicate clearly: Keep clients up to date on progress and explain technical decisions in plain language.
- Keep learning: Stay current on data engineering, analytics and cloud, and bring useful new ideas to your projects.
- Fly to customer and partner offices from time to time for project kick-offs and trainings
What you bring
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS or Azure) and its data tools such as BigQuery, Redshift or Synapse. Snowflake is a plus.
- 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering or data consulting.
- Strong SQL, plus experience with data modelling, ETL and building data pipelines.
- Experience with dbt or a similar transformation tool in the cloud.
- Experience with applying AI responsilbly to augment your workload
- Comfort working with stakeholders to gather requirements and turn them into working solutions.
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and a practical, client-first mindset.
- Nice to have: Consulting experience with global or enterprise clients, and experience with Looker, Power BI or Tableau. Looker experience is especially valued here.
Where you'll work
This role is remote. The company is based in Singapore. We also welcome applications from candidates in the neighboring countries, timezone overlap with Singapore is required.
