Senior Data Centre Network Engineer

Job Summary

You will lead daily operations, maintenance, and improvements of data centre network infrastructure. Collaborate with partners and teams to ensure reliability, manage risks, troubleshoot incidents, and mentor junior engineers in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Data Centre Infrastructure & Network Operations

• Oversee routine inspections and maintenance of data centre network infrastructure to ensure reliability, availability, and compliance with operational standards
• Monitor network performance, detect potential issues, and prepare daily operational reports to inform decision-making
• Coordinate with infrastructure partners to review maintenance programs, operational procedures, and service quality
• Supervise data hall build-out and expansion activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and standards

Network Troubleshooting & Incident Management

• Diagnose and resolve complex network infrastructure incidents, including connectivity and external dark fibre disruptions
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurring incidents
• Identify operational risks and recommend improvements to enhance network reliability and resilience

Change Management & Risk Control

• Coordinate and oversee change management for high-risk maintenance work across the data centre campus
• Review maintenance plans, assess risks, and ensure controls are in place before implementing changes
• Collaborate with technical teams and partners to execute maintenance safely with minimal service disruption

Technical Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Support supervisors and senior engineers in managing daily operations and allocating technical resources
• Mentor junior engineers on troubleshooting, maintenance procedures, and operational standards to build team capability
• Contribute to process standardisation, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with complex infrastructure projects and technical assignments as needed

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Relevant professional certifications in networking, server hardware, or data centre infrastructure will be an advantage
