On the upstream, EMCC actively develops prevention and early detection of psycho-emotional and relational problems. This includes training, public talks and workshops, in-company training, community outreach programmes, resource development, among others. These are aimed at empowering individuals through imparting and equipping of knowledge and self-help skills to effectively manage their interpersonal relationship challenges. We advocate for destigmatisation of mental health and normalise seeking help through public campaigning.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced counsellor to provide counselling services, consultations, assessments and interventions for individuals, couples and families experiencing socio-emotional and mental health challenges of moderate to high complexity and risk.
The incumbent will provide clinical supervision of lesser experienced counsellors, develop, deliver and oversee the training curriculum, conduct training for other professionals and corporate clients, and lead community outreach initiatives. As the Senior Counsellor, you must have knowledge of case management and the ability to engage and network with external stakeholders to promote the organisational objectives of EMCC.
The successful candidate should demonstrate high professionalism, leadership, and management skills.
Responsibilities
Provide early-risk marriage support e.g. minor and trans-national couples, separation support and family and marital counselling.
Lead group counselling and other therapeutic interventions to individuals and families facing challenges and to work with relevant partners to promote the welfare of the clients.
Proficient in various counselling approaches (e.g. systemic etc) and tools to help with clients concerns effectively.
Possess the ability to manage challenging cases, including crisis interventions and referrals to other agencies.
Deliver clinical supervision for staffs professional development.
Provide oversight of high-risk cases and consultation to less experienced counsellors handling them.
Supervise and manage counselling interns, when necessary.
Identify the training needs of stakeholders and work with partners to plan, develop and implement training/programmes for the different client groups.
Identify gaps in clients service delivery and improve work processes.
Comply with workflow processes and improve protocols where required.
Support the Lead Counsellor in the development and implementation of the counselling and training services plan to meet organisational KPIs.
Ensure funded projects comply with the funding terms and conditions.
Ensure budgets are adhered to and financial systems maintained.
Provide timely reports on statutory, grants/funders for internal purposes and requirements.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Director.
Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in Counselling or Counselling Psychology by accredited institutions under the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
SAC registered counsellor and preferably SAC registered Clinical Supervisor.
Training in different modalities.
Experiences and Competencies
More than five years of experience in counselling individuals, couples, and families with at least two years of supervisory experience.
Experience in counselling all age groups (children and youths, adults, and seniors).
Experience in facilitating psycho-education and therapy groups.
Proven track record of helping clients to achieve their psychological well-being goals.
Experience working with different nationalities and cultures.
Passionate about advocating the importance of mental health.
A people-oriented team player that contributes to a positive work and team culture.
Ability to adapt and be flexible with changes.
Excellent written (e.g. report writing) and presentation skills.
Committed, able to multi-task and possess a can-do attitude.
