Job Description

The Senior Counsellor is required to be actively involved in the assessment intervention and management of clients with mental health needs within the multi-disciplinary settings.

He/she is also required to provide case supervision and/or (specialised) consult to the team, in alignment with the overall YIT program objectives, implementation and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Conduct assessments

. Conduct using psycho-social and psychological measurement tools as a base line assessment.

. Manage clients with mental health needs.

. Prepare and document assessment reports for routine cases.

. Identify gaps in assessment tools in relation to application in local contexts and propose possible contextualization to supervisor.

. Deliver case presentations within psychological services.

Delivery of Intervention

. Provide case supervision, case load management and/or specialised consultation to the team, in alignment with the overall YIT programme objectives, adhering to the relevant ethical and legal guidelines.

. Perform case formulation and implement interventions as evidence-based and data driven.

. Collaborate and co-manage with the treatment & intervention team, the psychiatrist and other allied health workers within the mental health ecosystem.

. Deliver interventions for cases including medico-legal and forensic cases under supervision.

. Work with the Team Lead to plan, implement and review services and activities to meet the needs of the clients.

. Identify areas of improvements to existing interventions based on research and sector trends.

. Deliver psychoeducation, psycho-social and behavior interventions

. Apply appropriate psychotherapy interventions such as CBT, DBT, Family therapy or any other appropriate approaches.

Build stakeholder relationships or capacity

. Work with Team Lead to review service workflow and processes, in accordance with the YIT programme requirement, and ensure adequate and appropriate accessibility to YIT services

. Work with Team Lead in the development of YIT service planning document and manual including set up requirements (infrastructure, manpower, training, recruitment) and processes (outreach, screening, mental health information, service linkage & follow-up).

. Provide relevant case

inputs to other specialised departments and relevant professionals.

. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and improve client care and services.

Maintain professional, legal and ethical standards

. Adhere to professional standards in clinical and legal and ethical practices.

. Adhere to policies and procedures for professional practice.

. Identify areas of improvement in client care and services for quality improvement projects

Uplift professional practice in Counselling or psychology

. Work with the Team Lead on the training and professional development of the YIT staff team to equip them with the necessary competencies to provide appropriate care and intervention for clients and caregivers, aligning to the intended care model of YIT. This includes ensuring all new/existing staffs are clear on their job scope and responsibilities.

. Identify areas of improvement in models of client care and services based on evidence-based practices.

. Perform data collection and analysis to support research and monitor the team progress and performance.

. Ensure programme data and documents are kept and maintained, in accordance with the YIT programme requirement, as well as the prevailing personal data protection and security guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or post-graduate diploma in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or,
  • Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health and
  • Has minimum 6 years of healthcare/community care experience of which, 3 years of experience with youth and / or youth mental health
  • Preferrably a registered clinical member with Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC)

Work Mode:

  • Hybrid Work Arrangement
  • Working Hours: 9am to 6pm, Mondays to Fridays
