Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Review of contract requirements as to notices, preparing pro-forma letters and schedules and ensuring that strict time scales for the submission of initial notices, interim and final particulars are in compliance with conditions of contract.
  • Monitoring of contract completion or extended completion and track the delays, causes and impacts upon the contract.
  • Ensuring all matters and correspondence of a contractual nature are responded in an appropriate and timely manner according to provision of contract.
  • Preparation and negotiation of claims for extension of time, loss and expense, etc.
  • Providing support of other operating units in terms of quantity surveying and contract administration such as variations, payment claims, final account settlement, review of tender documents and letters of awards, binding of contract / sub-contract documents etc.
  • Liaise with Consultants / Solicitors pertaining to claims and legal matters.
  • Deployment may be centralized in Head Office or site based at Site Office depending on project scale and needs.
  • Taking instructions directly from Project Director/Project Manager on site.
  • Reporting to Contracts Manager and Department Head and taking instruction from any one of them for all matters relating to construction planning and working closely and jointly with Construction Planner.
  • Assist in the preparation of Purchase / Work Order Agreements including fronting vendors to negotiate on terms and conditions.

    Requirements:
  • Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying /Construction Project Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in either a construction firm or a quantity surveying practice with good knowledge in contracts and ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Previous exposure / experience in contract administration and preparation of extension of time and loss and expense claims would be a distinct advantage.
  • A good command of spoken and written English and computer literate.
  • A team player, able to communicate and coordinate effectively.
  • Possess high level of integrity, positive attitude, high initiative, meticulous coupled with good analytical skills.
  • Travelling may be required.
