We are looking for a candidate with a keen interest in legal and compliance work to support the work of the client's Compliance department and other Secretariat's departments.
The successful candidate must be a qualified lawyer who has experience in working in a law practice environment.
Duties
The specific duties include providing legal support for and legal review of the Compliance department's work, including but not limited to the following:
- Assist in the processing of applications for /renewals of Practising Certificates, as well as other applications handled by the department
- Assist in the work of the Anti-Money Laundering Secretariat
- Attend to legal and compliance enquiries from solicitors and law practices
- Support the work of various practice committees
- Assist in the development, management and streamlining of standard operating procedures, systems and processes of the department
- Handle court applications under the Legal Profession Act 1966
- Compile and analyse statistics relating to the legal profession
- Conduct legal research into legal compliance matters
- Assist in risk assessment to identify potential compliance issues and address them proactively
