About the Role:

You will be playing a key role within the Legal & Compliance team which serves as a strategic partner and a trusted advisor to the board and senior management. The team's mission is to ensure that the organization consistently fulfils its regulatory obligations, maintaining strong governance amid today's fast-evolving regulatory landscape. The role would have a large focus on the organization's digital asset and stablecoin compliance and onboarding operations, ensuring alignment with relevant regulatory frameworks. This is a junior to senior role for someone with relevant experience looking to further themselves in a career incompliance with a large focus on digital assets.

Duties:

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conduct AML and KYC screenings during customers onboarding ensuring compliance with regulatory standards with a focus on clients who require digital assets payments.
  • Complete customer risk assessments as part of the onboarding process, ensuring appropriate risk rating and documentation in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts, name screening hits, and sanction matches, providing timely clearance and escalation where necessary. This may include transaction monitoring for crypto transactions where necessary.
  • Perform both live and post transaction monitoring and raise Request for Information (RFI) to clarify transactional activity to our customers.
  • Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high risk onboardings, transactions and assist in the preparation of Suspicious Transactions Reports (STRs).
  • Maintain and update internal sanctions, PEPs and blocklists ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the compliance policies, procedures and risk assessments that form the Company's Compliance framework.
  • Support with licensing requirements for virtual asset service providers as required.
  • Monitor regulatory changes globally, conduct basic research on regulatory updates with respect to digital assets and provide summary advice to the company on emerging risks and compliance strategies.
  • Conduct periodic Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews and ensure ongoing compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure accurate and proper record keeping of compliance-related documentation and decisions.
  • Close collaboration with internal teams. Contribute to compliance-related projects, system enhancements and other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business or related field.
  • 5- 8 years of compliance, AML or KYC experience within financial institutions ,preferably at banks, payment service providers, money service business or consulting environment. Prior crypto experience would be an added benefit, but knowledge on crypto compliance will be required.
  • Good working knowledge of the Payment Services Act (Singapore), MAS Notices, Guidelines on AML/CFT with a focus on DPT requirements. Familiarity with Hong Kong financial and digital asset regulatory knowledge is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound judgement
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities and contribute to a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin. Proficiency in Mandarin is highly beneficial for regional coordination with customers and stakeholders.
