Job Description

Responsibilities:

Commodity Strategy & Management

  • Develop and execute long term commodity strategies for Electronics, PCBA, Interconnects, and Electrical Box/Enclosure Assemblies.
  • Analyze commodity gaps and drive implementation of new sources to close capability, cost, quality, and capacity gaps.
  • Conduct market intelligence on industry trends, technology roadmaps, material pricing movements, and competitive supply landscapes.
  • Provide management with regular updates, dashboards, and recommendations on commodity performance, risks, and strategic direction.

Supplier Sourcing, Qualification & Development

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to ensure a robust, competitive, and sustainable supply base.
  • Lead supplier strategy development to meet cost, quality, technology, sustainability, and delivery requirements.
  • Plan and conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers to ensure alignment on goals, performance, and future roadmap collaboration.
  • Develop supplier capability roadmaps, including process capability, technology readiness, and cost reduction initiatives.

Cost Management & Benchmarking

  • Lead cost negotiation, quotation analysis, and cost breakdown reviews across all electronics and PCBA commodities.
  • Manage annual cost reduction programs, productivity pipelines, and value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives.
  • Perform benchmarking on market pricing, manufacturing processes, and competitor sourcing strategies.

Supply Chain Assurance & Operational Support

  • Provide support to business units on materials, supply continuity, capacity constraints, scheduling, deliveries, and costing.
  • Lead risk mitigation planning, including dual/multi sourcing, regionalization, buffer planning, and supplier ramp up strategies.
  • Monitor supplier capacity, lead time performance, and material availability to prevent production shortages or delays.
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve supply chain exceptions and material escalations.

Supplier Quality & Compliance

  • Partner with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) teams to resolve supplier quality issues and drive corrective/preventive actions.
  • Support supplier manufacturing and process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, yield, and operational robustness.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Finance to support Cost Reduction & Alternate Sourcing activities.
  • Provide early supplier involvement (ESI) input during design phases to influence DFM, cost, and supply robustness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define business priorities and drive improvement metrics across cost, delivery, and quality.

Project Leadership

  • Lead or supervise strategic initiatives including cost negotiation, NPI sourcing, benchmarking, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive cross-functional project teams to ensure successful implementation of commodity strategies.
  • Support make vs buy analysis, localization projects, and long term supply planning.

Other Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers to ensure focus on quality, technology, responsiveness, and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintain documentation, sourcing strategies, supplier performance data, and compliance records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 8 to 12 years of experience in commodity management, sourcing, supply chain, or procurement for electronics/PCBA.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB assembly, electronic components, interconnects, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in cost modeling, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience with global sourcing (China, SE Asia, Taiwan).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
