Senior Coach/Coach, Fencing Academy

Singapore Sports School is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Senior Coach/Coach, Fencing Academy.

You will be responsible for planning and implementing the training and competition plans for a group of student-athletes towards high performance in sports, based on long-term athlete development principles, under the guidance of the Fencing Academy Head Coach.

You will keep track of the progress of each student-athlete and provide regular updates to the Fencing Academy, the student-athletes and their parents. You will work with the Head Coach, General Manager, fellow coaches, school staff and external stakeholders to achieve the sporting goals and holistic development of the student-athletes under your care.

Qualifications and Qualities required:

• At least 5 years of competitive coaching experience with elite and developmental youth athletes (ages 12-21 years-old), preferably with experience bringing athletes to regional/international cadet and junior championships.
• Possesses an international/national coaching qualification in Fencing recognised or accredited by FIE.
• Possesses at least SG-Coach Level 1 certification or equivalent and is registered with the National Registry of Coaches (NROC). For foreign coach selected for the position, Singapore Sports School will facilitate the registration with the NROC.
• Possesses a valid Standard First Aid + CPR/AED certification.
• Displays good understanding of sports science as applied to elite youth sports based on long term athlete development principles.
• Competent in values inculcation and character development for student-athletes.
• Good planning, administrative and organizational skills.
• Able to communicate well in English with student-athletes and stakeholders.
