Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer(GCP)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, implement, deploy and maintain secure, scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience in GCP architecture, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines and cloud operations. The role involves supporting enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives, improving infrastructure performance and reliability, and ensuring effective delivery of cloud infrastructure and operational services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Infrastructure Design & Implementation

• Design, develop and implement scalable, secure and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions using Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and maintain cloud architecture, infrastructure configurations and deployment strategies.
• Implement and manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) environments and container-based infrastructure.
• Manage infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Pulumi.
• Implement cloud security controls, access management and infrastructure monitoring.
• Identify opportunities to improve cloud infrastructure performance, scalability, availability and cost efficiency.

2. DevOps & Infrastructure Automation

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Google Cloud Build and other relevant DevOps technologies.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployment processes using Python and Shell scripting.
• Implement and maintain cloud deployment solutions using Google Cloud Deployment Manager and other infrastructure automation tools.
• Manage container orchestration, application deployment and infrastructure configuration across different environments.
• Improve deployment processes through automation and continuous integration practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues.

3. Cloud Operations & Service Management

• Manage and maintain enterprise cloud infrastructure environments, ensuring service availability, performance and reliability.
• Oversee infrastructure operations, maintenance and technical support activities.
• Monitor cloud environments and proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Investigate and manage technical incidents, escalations and service disruptions.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Prepare technical documentation, operational reports and infrastructure maintenance procedures.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions comply with relevant security standards and operational requirements.

4. Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Provide technical guidance and expertise to cloud infrastructure and application teams.
• Collaborate with project managers, application stakeholders and technical teams to understand infrastructure requirements.
• Coordinate infrastructure-related activities and ensure timely delivery of technical milestones.
• Participate in technical reviews, project discussions and infrastructure planning sessions.
• Identify opportunities to adopt emerging cloud technologies and improve existing infrastructure solutions.
• Support technical escalations and communicate infrastructure-related updates to senior stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant Industry experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, cloud architecture or IT infrastructure management.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including: Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).Google Cloud Config Connector (KCC).Google Cloud Build and CI/CD technologies. Google Cloud Deployment Manager. Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Pulumi.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Python and Shell scripting.
• Must possess at least one Professional-level Google Cloud certification, such as:Professional Cloud Architect.Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer. Professional Cloud Developer.Other relevant Professional-level Google Cloud certifications.
• Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, Kubernetes, containerization, DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.
• Experience in cloud infrastructure operations, monitoring, troubleshooting and incident management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical challenges.

Desirable Requirements

• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence technologies, Agentic AI workflows, AI solution architecture and Large Language Model (LLM) optimisation.
• Experience with other public cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
• Familiarity with Singapore Government technology standards and guidelines published by GovTech.
• Additional certifications such as PMP or Scrum Master.
• Experience working on large-scale enterprise projects, preferably within a System Integration (SI) environment.
