Job Summary:
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SGX's cloud computing infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and container orchestration management solutions. You will lead and oversee projects, delegate tasks, and manage stakeholders to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of cloud-based systems.
Job Responsibilities:
. Design scalable, secure and resilient cloud architectures in-line with broader architectural design principles and policies. Define reference architectures and patterns for common workloads. Build and maintain enterprise cloud platforms/landing zones. Evaluate and adopt new cloud services and technologies.
. Define cloud governance frameworks and ensure policies implemented and enforced cover key areas including security, cost management (FinOps), compliance, tagging and resource management.
. Work with application teams to support migration to cloud and optimization of workload and service performance. This will include effective support model (DevSecOps) and compliance with regulatory and internal standards and policies. Define migration frameworks and tooling to assist with application assessment, migration planning and modernization strategies.
. Design and maintain cloud-native CI/CD pipelines with integrated security and quality checks. Enable teams to deploy safely, consistently, and with minimal/no human interaction.
. Implement monitoring, logging and tracing frameworks in support of Observability and Reliability engineering focus. Define SLOs/SLAs and drive incident response and operational maturity (including FinOps).
. Administer and manage cloud infrastructure deployment, including provisioning and de-provisioning resources, maintaining security posture, monitoring resource utilisation, configuring networks, and managing backup/restore processes.
. Troubleshoot issues effectively, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions during and after incidents to minimise downtime.
. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and processes for troubleshooting, system maintenance, and configuration management.
. Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
. Support audit and infrastructure/network security scans, disaster recovery, and security-related drills.
. Conduct regular assessments of cloud architectures to identify areas for optimisation and improvement, providing technical support and guidance for cloud-related queries and issues.
. Explore, evaluate, and implement new technologies that can help the company reduce costs or enhance operational efficiencies.
. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in cloud computing and DevSecOps.
Job Requirements:
. Education: Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
. Experience: Minimum 8 years of cloud infrastructure experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience working on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including design, build, and implementation. Hands-on experience with cloud migration is an advantage.
. Technical Skills: Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible, and proficiency with YAML/JSON deployment templates is essential.
. Cloud Security and Management: Experience with cloud security, compliance, monitoring, billing, and cost management for maintaining robust and cost-effective cloud environments.
. Container and Orchestration Solutions: Knowledge of container and orchestration solutions, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, or managed services such as AWS EKS, GCP GKE, or Azure AKS is highly relevant.
. Additional Skills: Strong analytical, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
. Certifications: Having a Kubernetes certification (CKA/D, CKS) is considered an advantage. Any professional or specialty certifications from AWS, GCP, or Azure is highly valued.
