Job Description

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Business Development Manager to join a leading international law firm in Singapore, supporting both the local Managing Partners and the wider APAC business development agenda. This pivotal role is designed for someone who thrives on both strategic planning and hands-on delivery, offering you the chance to shape and execute business development initiatives that will elevate the firms reputation and client relationships across SEA.

What youll do:

  • Collaborate closely with local Managing Partners to develop comprehensive office business plans and implement innovative client development initiatives throughout the year.
  • Support partners in preparing for strategic pursuits by acting as an internal consultant, coaching them on developing compelling commercial propositions that win new business.
  • Project manage both local and international pursuits including tenders, RFPs, proposal documents, presentations, and fee analyse opportunities to recommend bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Maintain and expand a library of local content aligned with global templates, supporting partners on pitch presentations, win themes, and best practice approaches.
  • Champion key account management by developing tailored client plans with lawyers to improve strategic positioning and increase share of work with priority clients.
  • Organise seminars, webinars, conferences, exhibitions, and hospitality activities in collaboration with partners to boost brand profile and generate valuable networking opportunities.
  • Manage external communications including media relations, award submissions, sponsorship negotiations, industry features, press commentary, and internal communications profiling local achievements.
  • Oversee legal directory entries for local offices by providing guidance on processes, drafting submissions where necessary, securing interviews to improve rankings in key areas of expertise.

What you bring:

  • Background having worked with other leading international law firms in a businss development capacity supporting a wide range of practices including but not limited to Corporate, Insurance, Marine, Aviation, Commercial Litigation and / or any other.
  • Extensive experience within professional services environments where you have successfully managed business development functions at a senior level.
  • Proven track record of inspiring diverse teams through supportive leadership while fostering an inclusive atmosphere built on trust and collaboration.
  • Exceptional proofreading abilities coupled with meticulous attention to detail when editing written materials or reviewing communications outputs.
  • The interpersonal skills required to build strong working relationships at all levelsincluding influencing senior stakeholders with empathy and tact.
