Senior Business Development Manager, Broker

Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing insurer in Singapore's General Insurance market, recognised for its strong underwriting discipline, broker partnerships, and consistent business growth. To support continued expansion across commercial lines, the team is looking to hire a professional to manage and grow a broker-driven portfolio covering WICA, Engineering Liability, and other General Insurance products.

The Role

This position will be responsible for managing and expanding a broker portfolio, developing new business opportunities, and delivering sustainable growth across assigned product lines.

You will work closely with both internal stakeholders and distribution partners to build a strong pipeline, deliver competitive quotations, and execute business strategies effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a broker pipeline, identifying opportunities across WICA, Engineering Liability, and other commercial GI lines
• Execute initiatives to achieve agreed production and profitability targets
• Prepare quotations and underwrite risks within delegated authority limits
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and distribution partners
• Provide technical guidance and respond to broker enquiries on coverage and product positioning
• Monitor broker performance and identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities
• Prepare regular portfolio and performance updates for internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance processes, products, and service delivery
• Participate in broker meetings, presentations, and engagement activities

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field
• Professional certifications such as BCP, PGI, CGI, or HI are advantageous
• 810 years of experience in General Insurance, preferably with exposure to WICA, Liability, or Engineering portfolios
• Strong understanding of underwriting and broker distribution channels
• Proven ability to manage relationships and grow a portfolio
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Commercially driven, proactive, and results-oriented
