Senior Business Analyst - Nostro Reconcilation

Job Description:

• Perform and oversee daily Nostro reconciliations, ensuring breaks are identified, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner.
• Monitor exception workflows and escalate aged breaks to relevant stakeholders.
• Liaise with Operations, Treasury, Product Control, IT, and external counterparties to resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze root causes of reconciliation breaks and implement preventive measures to improve control effectiveness.
• Ensure reconciliations meet internal policy, regulatory, and audit requirements.
• Contribute to automation and process optimization, leveraging reconciliation platforms (SmartStream, Duco, or equivalent).
• Participate in system configuration, testing, and deployment of new reconciliation rules.
• Maintain clear documentation, SOPs, and training guides for reconciliation processes.
• Provide training, coaching, and guidance to junior analysts or new joiners.
• Support transformation initiatives (e.g., system migrations, regulatory reporting, or process re-engineering).

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in Nostro or cash reconciliation within financial services.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliation tools (SmartStream, Duco, Intellimatch, or similar platforms).
• Strong understanding of Nostro accounts, settlements, and cash management workflows.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ability to identify patterns and root causes.
• Good communication skills to interact with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, and Technology.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple deadlines.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and controls (e.g., SOX, Basel, local regulatory standards) is a plus.
