Senior Base Metal Physical Trader

Key Responsibilities

• Handle physical trading for the Middle East, Asia, and China regions.
• Manage the Copper trading book, including procurement, sales, and risk exposure.
• Oversee HQ smelters sales to all China clients.
• Manage FX arbitrage and cross-market spread positions to optimize trading margins.
• Assess credit risk and structure trade finance solutions to enhance profitability and client retention.
• Monitor regional and global base metals market trends.
• Expand trading networks with smelters, traders, and end-users across China and overseas markets.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in base metals physical and/or futures trading.
• A full and detailed understanding of the fundamental drivers of metal markets
• Experienced in developing and implementing of trading strategies.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, self-disciplined, able to take stress
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, especially those of high importance
• Strong problem solving skills and decision-making abilities
• Excellent team player and work well with others
