The Senior Bartender is responsible for overseeing daily bar operations, ensuring high-quality beverage preparation, maintaining service standards, and supporting the overall guest experience. The role includes performing barista duties, training junior staff, upholding hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth and efficient bar performance.
A. Bar Operations & Beverage Service
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and standards.
- Lead bar operations during shifts, ensuring timely service and consistent drink quality.
- Manage beverage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and rotating products.
- Ensure proper setup and closing of the bar, including equipment cleaning and maintenance.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints in a professional and service-oriented manner.
B. Barista Duties
- Prepare a full range of coffee and specialty drinks (espresso-based beverages, brewed coffee, cold beverages, etc.).
- Operate and maintain coffee machines and grinders.
- Ensure coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients are stocked and properly stored.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the coffee workstation at all times.
C. Leadership & Staff Support
- Provide guidance, training, and support to bartenders and barbacks.
- Oversee shift assignments and ensure proper workflow during service.
- Assist management in implementing service standards, beverage programs, and menu updates.
D. Cash Handling & Compliance
- Manage point-of-sale transactions accurately, including cash, credit card, and room charge procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, alcohol regulations, and safety requirements.
- Prevent overserving and enforce responsible alcohol service practices.
E. Hygiene, Safety & Maintenance
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the bar and coffee areas.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and any maintenance issues are reported promptly.
- Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines in accordance with local regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bartender senior or supervisory experience preferred.
- Skilled in cocktail preparation, drink presentation, and coffee-making techniques.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of bar inventory management.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service is an advantage.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to carry and lift items up to [weight, e.g., 10-15 kg].
