Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (AKS Specialist)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer (5+ years) specializing in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to design, deploy, and manage highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will lead our containerization initiatives, automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), manage CI/CD pipelines, and optimize microservices architectures hosted on AKS.
Key Responsibilities
- AKS Infrastructure & Administration: Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, including node pools, autoscaling (HPA/KEDA), ingress controllers (NGINX, Application Gateway), and service meshes (Istio/Linkerd).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate end-to-end Azure cloud resource provisioning using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- CI/CD & DevOps Automation: Design and optimize continuous delivery pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for containerized applications.
- Networking & Security: Configure Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure Firewalls, RBAC, Key Vaults, and private endpoints for secure AKS cluster communications.
- Monitoring & Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Container Insights, Log Analytics, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Cost & Performance Optimization: Conduct proactive performance tuning, disaster recovery planning, and cost optimization across compute and container workloads.
Qualifications & Skill Set
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Cloud Engineering, System Administration, or DevOps, with 3+ years dedicated to Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes/AKS.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Advanced expertise in Kubernetes, AKS, Docker, Helm charts, and container networking/storage drivers.
- IaC & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Terraform/Bicep and scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
- Azure Core Services: Solid knowledge of Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Azure Storage, Azure SQL/CosmosDB, and Azure Networking.
- Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400), or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
