Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Associate with experience and expertise in Real Estate to join our Singapore office, and work closely with our Australian team, one of the largest and most experienced real estate practices in Australia.

This role will work across the full lifecycle of commercial real estate matters, including major developments, strategic and portfolio acquisitions, disposals and capital partnering.

Our Real Estate teams advise Australian and international investors, developers, funds and corporates across office, retail, industrial, data centres, residential, build‑to‑rent, infrastructure‑adjacent and mixed‑use assets. The team is recognised for delivering integrated advice that reflects commercial realities and market dynamics.

Lawyers in the team work on headline transactions and developments and in this role, you will:

  • Lead (with partner supervision) - on Australian real estate transactions (inbound and domestic).
  • Draft, negotiate and review key transactional and development documentation.
  • Support major real estate developments from structuring through delivery.
  • Work directly with clients and collaborate across practice groups.

Applicant criteria for the position

We are looking for someone enthusiastic about contributing to Mallesons growth in Singapore and work closely with our Australian offices. You will have:

  • A recognised legal qualification in a common law jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 7 years of proven deep experience in significant, complex and high‑value real estate transactions in the Australian real estate market, with wider regional experience viewed very favourably.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a strong knowledge of the real estate industry - to deliver prompt and commercially astute advice
  • Strong commitment to client service and well-developed relationship management ability - you will play a key role in supporting and actively developing our relationships with our clients
  • Team focus to mentor junior colleagues and support other team members
  • First rate experience in drafting complex agreements and allocating risk in a commercially appropriate manner
  • Recognised major development experience gained in a similar environment
  • Strong technical skills, sound commercial judgement and attention to detail.
  • A genuine interest in complex, large‑scale real estate work.
  • A strong work ethic.
