Our client is an established and blue-chip PE/investment firm. It is based in town. It invests in private equity funds, with a focus on the development and innovation of new investment platforms and products to make private equity (PE) accessible to a broader group of investors.

We are seeking a Finance & Operations Associate/Senior Associate to support the firm's finance and fund operations activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the firm's products, including accurate reporting, timely investor transactions, and effective coordination with internal teams and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities

Financial and Operations

  • Assist in the activities for a group of investment products, including evergreen and securitised investment product. This would include but not limited to accounting, audit, tax (local, overseas, GST and FATCA/CRS), statutory, payment, AML/KYC onboarding and budgeting
  • Assist with fund operations process which includes (but not limited to):
  1. Assist in the check of daily deliverables from fund administrators
  2. Checking & processing of drawdowns and distribution from investments
  3. Checking and reviewing subscription/redemptions from investors
  4. Coordinating with fund administrator and/or GP for queries and reports
  5. Assist with onboarding matters, including fulfilling KYCs, for new investments and periodic CDD
  6. Cash monitoring and management, including placing of fixed deposits and money market funds
  7. Checking of performance metrics and ensuring data integrity
  • Work closely and coordinate with all business units and external parties, including fund administrators, trustees, treasury managers, banks, auditors and tax agent, to support the regular reporting deliverables (such as investors reporting) and deadlines
  • Assist with all regulatory filing, including but not limited to FATCA/CRS, tax, statutory
  • Review investor onboarding documentations to ensure AML/KYC compliance with the assistance

Projects

  • Participate and provide inputs in new workflow, system implementation, and project coordination where required
  • Participate in other work processes and ad-hoc tasks where required
  • Initiate efficiency improvements to control enhancements

Ideal Candidate

  • Degree in Accountancy/Finance/ACCA/CA Equivalent with around 4 to 7 years of total experience. Has at least 2 years of related fund operations experience gained with a fund service provider firm or a buy side investment/asset management firm
  • Good knowledge in accounting and operations for investments products including private equity funds (evergreen and close-end)
  • Knowledge and/or experience in transfer agency process is good to have
  • Have good knowledge about Singapore fund structures (Singapore Variable Capital Company VCC, Singapore Private Limited, SG limited partnerships and unit trusts)
  • Exposure to variety of accounting standards (i.e. Singapore FRS/IFRS/RAP 7 and US GAAP standards) a plus
  • Organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous, great at time management and able to work independently with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen learner with positive attitude and motivated
  • Aptitude in standard computer software (including PowerPoint, Excel and Words)
  • Open to a 12 months contract role
