Role and Responsibilities
- Manage communication with Japanese colleagues and provide operational support for Japanese mandates during their timezone.
- Act as an extension of the Dublin and Canada teams responsible for daily NAV production for funds administered by Mitsubishi UFJ Fund Services.
- Collaborate across client operations and investor operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Must be fluent in Japanese and possess strong knowledge of MUTB operations, their traditional client expectations, and investor services business.
- Act as main point of contact with our Japanese colleagues during Japanese working hours where they can escalate issues on reporting. Help to investigate and resolve the issues.
- Co-ordinate initiatives and client relationships with internal business units such as MUTB, MTBJ, Investor Services, GISD, MCA etc.
. Support and drive business development initiatives across traditional clients.
. Assist with client deliverables and projects including, but not limited to, Distributions, new funds onboarding and fund liquidations.
- Identify areas of high risk and regular issues and assist to improve controls and processes in place to mitigate risk.
- Manage client relationships and client queries and help to resolve issues/queries raised by our clients.
- Liaise with internal business partners such as Product and Sales team on marketing tactics, product development and sales pitches.
- Ensure the service level agreement and accuracy of client deliverables prepared by the team.
- Ensure that the team is trained, engaged and as efficient and effective as possible in achieving organizational goals.
- Help with the coordination of resources and make sure that appropriate cross training and coverage is in place to meet client and organizational expectations for deliverables.
- Oversea the audit process, prepare financial statements or review such if prepared by other parties.
- Ensure all processes are performed following operational controls as stipulated in SOC1 and all relevant checklists are completed.
- Participate in multiple system initiatives and projects and contribute to idea generation for future process or technological improvements. Expected to participate on both a local and global level.
- Perform other duties as assigned and incidental to the work described above.
Education Requirements
Post-secondary education/University Degree with a concentration in finance or accounting.
Work Experience
- At least 5 years experience working in the fund administration industry with experience managing Staff. This can include other administrators, investment managers or fund auditors
- at least 1 years experience working with MUTB GISD
- Completion or interest in a professional accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, ICAEW CFA (or equivalent)) an asset but not required.
