The Role
The candidate will be responsible for supporting the growth of our cargo business in Asia.
- Assist with communication and distribution of the Willis Cargo value proposition to clients, prospects and non-marine Willis colleagues
- Work with the regional Asia cargo leader to build pipelines, identify opportunities and map out areas of potential growth in Asia
- Create and grow relationships with internal Willis stakeholders to increase connectivity, visibility and awareness of marine cargo as a vehicle for growth
- Support in-country LoBs and BU Industry teams to cross-sell cargo, increase their client penetration and enhance their overall value proposition
- Assist with RFP and tender responses, including taking responsibility for contribution to writing and presenting of our response where required
- Follow-up on leads to support production of retail cargo business where a viable opportunity is identified
- Develop and maintain relationships with the cargo market, both domestically and regionally, to enhance our placement capabilities
- Broke and place our clients risks into the regional market in Asia, including taking responsibility for identifying suitable markets and determining placement strategy
- Undertake complex account management and servicing, including understanding a client or prospect's business and the key risk exposures that face their business
- Identify innovative solutions to client/prospect problems to add value and deliver a best in class service proposition that helps differentiate Willis in the market
- Prepare broking submissions, assimilate complex information, analyse exposure data and identify appropriate solutions to meet a client's needs.
- Understand and use relevant Willis systems
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Willis guidelines and procedures
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Preferably ACII qualified or equivalent industry experience
- Fluent in English
- A proven track record in insurance broking or underwriting
- An in-depth knowledge of cargo Insurance, to address any client questions and technical issues
- Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Experience handling and managing complex cargo clients
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
- Ability to assimilate and apply large volumes of information rapidly
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
- Able to prioritise, manage deadlines and work under pressure
- Comfortable explaining complex concepts and making recommendations to client servicing teams and clients
- Ability to adapt personal style to work effectively with a wide range of clients, colleagues and underwriters
- Must be prepared to work with integrity and openness, complying at all times with local regulatory and Willis requirements.
- Good IT skills with excellent Word and Excel usage capability
