Senior Assistant Manager / Manager, Strategic Partnerships

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Engage with government agencies, institutes of higher learning, and companies to nurture and secure new strategic partnerships that enhance SIT's educational and applied research activities.
  • Ensure effective management and deepening of existing partnerships through robust governance and oversight with clear delivery milestones
  • Negotiate, structure and finalise terms for collaboration with industry partners to achieve win-win outcomes
  • Track, evaluate and report the impact of partnerships on SIT's academic programmes, applied research initiatives, and community engagement efforts.
  • Lead initiatives promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange, including organising workshops, roundtables and networking events to build thought leadership.
  • Conduct long-term horizon scanning to identify industry trends and new growth areas relevant to SIT's educational and research focus areas.
  • Support business development efforts for key projects or centres related to SIT's strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other divisions within SIT to develop new educational pathways and applied research areas while ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Assist with any additional duties assigned by the Director of the Strategic Partnership Division and/or the Deputy President of the Industry & Community Group.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Food Science & Technology, or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in strategic planning, business development, or a similar role, preferably within the sustainable food sectors or land transport.
  • Ability to transverse and be conversant in various industry verticals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and deliver timely results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry leaders, government officials, and academic faculty.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex information and ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative approach to work, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
