Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Asset Management Leader is responsible for asset strategies that drive optimal investment and disposition decisions across GE Vernova to improve cost of capital for machinery and equipment. By partnering with Global Supply Chain Teams, Sourcing, Finance, Development, and Engineering, this role will be integral in delivering financial savings throughout the entire equipment lifecycle. Beginning with CAPEX/OPEX savings during the budgeting and acquisition phase of equipment through dispositioning surplus/idle investments, this role will enhance our ability to reduce base costs, align to our sustainability goals, and off-set financial impairments as well as generating cash income for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a four (4) phased end-to-end process for managing machines & equipment: planning, acquisition, operation & maintenance, disposition to improve cash and reduce CAPEX.
  • Establish KPIs to ensure the capital investment structure proposed is the best use of capital. Promote investment strategies (i.e., lease v. buy) that provides optimal benefits after considering install complexity, technology, proposed usage, and end of life value.
  • Launch a digital Asset Lifecycle Portal to centralize investment asset platforms, links, SOPs and people. Remove organizational/system barriers that negatively impact current cost of capital due to different ERPs, Fixed Asset COEs, functions, investment tools, and local disposition decisions.
  • Define a standard process across Gas Power for requesting, managing, refinancing, buying out, and ending operational lease schedules. Mitigate accounting risks by ensuring all equipment leases are booked according to ASC 842, and early buyout options (EBOs) are included in the budget for CAPEX.
  • Expand the existing Asset Redeployment process by encompassing all surplus machines & equipment in scope, including finished goods inventory, leased equipment, and obsolete program assets purchased as expense. Ensure a consistent process is in place when the Business remarkets surplus assets to third-party buyers in an As Is Where Is transaction.
  • Drive a culture of rigor around the idle asset annual inventory policy.
  • Work closely with the finance team to provide analyses and estimates to the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or technical equivalent from an accredited institution is essential
  • Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in finance, operations, manufacturing, and/or field service environments is essential
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects or facilitating process changes, preferably in roles with cross-functional or multi-location responsibilities, is essential
  • Strong understanding of machinery capabilities and industrial applications
  • Proven ability to communicate business goals, programs, and processes effectively
  • Experience managing global or cross-functional projects

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong technical and financial acumen in asset procurement, leasing, and redeployment
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable solutions
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional organizations
  • Self-starter with strong ownership and initiative
