Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Support Consultant to provide production support for enterprise payment platforms within a corporate banking environment.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in application monitoring, production incident management, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. The successful candidate should have strong UNIX scripting and SQL skills and be comfortable supporting business-critical applications in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide L2/L3 production application support for payment and corporate banking platforms.
Monitor production applications, interfaces, batch processes, and system health to ensure service availability and stability.
Investigate and resolve production incidents, application failures, and performance issues.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring or critical production issues and coordinate permanent fixes.
Troubleshoot application and data-related issues using UNIX/Linux commands, scripts, and SQL queries.
Develop and maintain UNIX scripts to support monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational activities.
Use SQL to investigate data issues, validate transactions, and support incident resolution.
Manage incidents through the complete lifecycle, including investigation, resolution, escalation, and closure.
Coordinate with application development, infrastructure, database, network, and business teams during incident resolution.
Support major incident and problem management activities for business-critical applications.
Monitor batch jobs, scheduled processes, system integrations, and transaction processing.
Support application deployments, releases, patches, and production changes.
Perform post-deployment validation and production health checks.
Maintain operational procedures, support documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles.
Identify recurring production issues and recommend improvements to application stability and operational efficiency.
Communicate incident status, business impact, resolution progress, and technical findings clearly to relevant stakeholders.

Required Skills

Approximately 7-12 years of overall IT experience, with strong relevant experience in application or production support.
Hands-on experience in application monitoring, production support, incident management, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux and UNIX shell scripting.
Strong hands-on SQL skills for data analysis, troubleshooting, and production support.
Experience supporting business-critical enterprise applications.
Good understanding of application support processes, production monitoring, incident management, and problem management.
Experience troubleshooting application, interface, batch, and data-related issues.
Ability to perform root cause analysis and coordinate resolution across multiple technical teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work effectively in a production support environment and manage critical incidents.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

Preferred Skills

Experience supporting global or regional payment platforms within corporate banking.
Understanding of payment processing, transaction flows, and banking payment systems.
Previous experience supporting high-volume or business-critical financial applications.
Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
Knowledge of blockchain or Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
Experience working with geographically distributed technology and business teams.
