Senior Application Engineer (HSD + Photonics)

Overview

We are looking for an experienced engineer to support customers working on next-generation high-speed digital and optical technologies used in AI datacenters, semiconductor products, networking, memory systems and optical communications. This is a customer-facing technical role. You will work closely with customers to understand their design and testing challenges, recommend suitable measurement solutions, support product validation, and help them bring new technologies to market faster.

What you will work on

You will support technologies such as:

• High-speed SerDes
• PAM4 / NRZ
• PCIe Gen5 / Gen6 / Gen7
• Ethernet and InfiniBand
• DDR5 / DDR6 / HBM / CXL
• 400G / 800G / 1.6T optical transceivers
• Silicon Photonics
• Co-Packaged Optics

You will help customers test the physical layer, meaning the actual electrical or optical signal travelling between chips, boards, connectors, transceivers and fiber.Typical measurements include:

• Signal integrity
• Eye diagram
• Jitter
• BER / Bit Error Rate
• TDR
• Channel characterization
• Compliance testing

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Photonics, Physics, Computer Engineering or related field
• Around 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience in high-speed digital and/or optical communications
• Strong understanding of physical-layer testing
• Hands-on experience in areas such as SerDes, PAM4, BER, jitter, eye diagram or signal integrity
• Experience with optical transceivers or optical communication systems would be highly relevant
• Familiarity with test equipment such as: Oscilloscopes, DCA, BERT, VNA, Optical Spectrum Analyzer, Optical Power Meter
• Knowledge of standards such as IEEE, OIF, PCI-SIG, JEDEC, Ethernet or CXL
• Comfortable working directly with customers and travelling regionally
