Senior Analyst

Location: Singapore Office

About Us

ACG Management Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore-based investment management firm specializing in Japan-focused fundamental long/short equity strategies. With a multi-manager platform and a strong focus on small to mid-cap Japanese equities, we aim to generate alpha through deep, bottom-up fundamental research and earnings surprises.

We are looking for a Japanese Equities Research Analyst who is not only strong in financial analysis but also fluent in Japanese language and communication. A solid understanding of Japanese business culture and communication style is essential. This is a key requirement for conducting meaningful company research and engaging effectively with Japan based management teams.

Key Responsibilities

Fundamental Research & Analysis
Conduct deep-dive, bottom-up research on listed Japanese companies, especially in the small- and mid-cap space
Analyze financial statements, earnings releases, and corporate filings in Japanese
Build detailed financial models to forecast company performance and valuation
Identify actionable long and short investment ideas through proprietary research
Monitor company developments, competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic trends

Communication & Cultural Insight
Attend earnings calls, analyst briefings, and company visits (primarily in Japanese)
Engage with management, IR teams, and local sell-side analysts in a culturally aware and professional manner
Understand subtle cultural nuances and communication styles to gain deeper insights during company interactions
Work closely with Portfolio Managers to develop and refine investment theses

Requirements

Native-level Japanese fluency (reading, writing, speaking) - essential for effective company interaction and deep research
Strong grasp of Japanese business culture and communication practices
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
2-5 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or asset management covering Japanese equities
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, comparables, etc.)
Independent thinker with attention to detail and a passion for fundamental investing
Proficiency with research tools such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and financial databases is a plus
