About the role
We are looking for a Senior Advisor - Treasury System & Risk to join our dynamic Treasury & Risk team within Commercial Treasury based in Singapore.
Reporting to the Commercial Treasury System & Risk Manager, this role supports core Treasury operations and decision making, with responsibilities including:
- Be the go-to expert for Rio's current Treasury Management System (TMS), Quantum and related applications.
- Continuously improve Rio's current TMS and associated applications.
- Act as a strategic connector and change management champion between Treasury, IT, and Treasury's internal clients/business users.
- Innovate, automate, and simplify treasury processes and treasury reporting using technologies like AI, data analytics, workflow automation, and low-code tools.
- Work closely with IT teams and external vendors to diagnose and resolve system issues for internal clients/business users.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, SOX and IT control audits, including walkthroughs, testing controls, and communicating gaps with a solutions-focused approach.
- Take ownership as the Risk Coordinator for Commercial Treasury, ensuring timely risk reporting and supporting key Risk Management forums such as Financial Risk Management Committee which is chaired by Group CFO.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- University degree in Finance, Information Systems or related discipline.
- At least 5 years work experience in corporate treasury front office and/or treasury systems. Experience with Quantum or similar TMS highly regarded.
- Strong grasp of treasury products, processes, and system configuration, with a strong drive to embrace latest technology to automate processes.
- Hands-on exposure to automation, AI, data analytics, or coding/scripting (e.g. SQL, Python, VBA,APIs, RPA, low-code platforms) will set you apart.
- Familiarity with SOx, risk management, and process controls highly regarded.
- A problem solver who's adaptable, open-minded and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity. Takes ownership and accountability, able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
