About The Role
We are seeking a
Senior Advisor Business Analyst who will plays a pivotal role in analyzing complex business scenarios, defining requirements, and enabling the delivery of digital solutions across the Rio Tinto Commercial. This role serves as a digital business partner, bridging technologists and business stakeholders. It identifies pain points through the business user's lens and translate business requirements into technical specifications and work closely with software developers/engineering team to implement solutions.
Reporting to the Digital Manager, you will
- Lead the full requirements lifecycle, delivering clear, actionable user stories and specifications.
- Engage crossfunctional stakeholders through expert consultancy and structured facilitation.
- Support change readiness, training, and adoption for new systems and processes.
- Analyse endtoend business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with business stakeholders, digital/delivery managers, data analysts/scientists and platform/engineering teams to ensure alignment and clarity throughout delivery.
- Possess deep knowledge of endtoend system and data flows, reporting needs, and integration requirements to guide analytics and system enhancements.
- Serve as the data subjectmatter expert and owner of the business data glossary, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment within the assigned domain.
- Identify and champion innovation opportunities that elevate business efficiency and user experience.
About You
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or any related discipline is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst/Product Owner in translating business requirements into actionable digital deliverables.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and/or data analysis/ETL tool (Python, Snowflake, Power BI, Databricks, etc) to analyse and interpret complex data sets to provide insights.
- Proven track record in delivering digital products/solutions using Scrum/SDLC Methodology. Certified Product Owner or Scrum Master is preferred.
- Experience in creating test plans, test scenarios, and test cases to support system changes and project delivery.
- Strong analytical, communication and facilitation skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience in commodity trading/supply value chain, CTRM, ERP or datadriven environments preferred.
- Having human centred design or design thinking experience will be a plus.
