OneEmpower is looking for a Senior Accounts Executive - Accounts Receivable to join our Finance team in Singapore.
The role is responsible for generalist accounting, accounts receivable, and billing activities, with particular focus on customer invoicing, recurring maintenance and licence billing, collections, reconciliations, and billing status reporting.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure billing information is complete and accurate, resolve outstanding issues, and provide timely visibility of billing and collection status. The role will also support the finance team in its ongoing transformation, including process improvements and a potential future accounting system migration.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong Excel and data manipulation skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoicing, receipt allocation, collections and reconciliation of customer balances.
- Coordinate and prepare recurring billings, including annual maintenance, software licenses, and other contractual billings.
- Maintain billing schedules and trackers to ensure billing status, upcoming billings, outstanding items, and required follow-ups are accurately captured.
- Prepare and circulate regular billing status updates, including periodic summaries of maintenance and license billing, to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain billing information, supporting documentation, and confirmation required before invoices are issued.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up proactively on overdue invoices and outstanding balances.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, unapplied receipts, and other customer account issues.
- Perform accounts receivable and general ledger reconciliations and support month-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare AR aging, billing, collection, and other financial reports as required by the Head of Accounting.
- Use Excel extensively to manipulate, reconcile, and analyze financial and operational data, including identifying missing information, discrepancies, and exceptions.
- Maintain and improve existing Excel-based billing schedules, reconciliations, and reporting templates.
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities using FACT ERP.NG and ensure accounting records are complete and accurate.
- Support finance process improvements and changes to existing workflows and controls.
- Participate in any future accounting system migration, including data extraction, cleansing, mapping, reconciliation, testing, and validation.
- Work with finance and non-finance stakeholders to resolve issues and drive matters through to completion with minimal supervision.
- Assist with the annual external audit, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, supporting documents, and responses to auditor queries.
- Support other accounting and finance activities as required by the Head of Accounting.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Relevant hands-on experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a similar accounting role.
- Good understanding of the end-to-end billing and accounts receivable cycle.
- Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency is mandatory and non-negotiable. Candidates must be comfortable manipulating and reconciling data independently, including using PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF functions, filters, and other relevant Excel tools.
- Hands-on proficiency with FACT ERP.NG is required.
- Comfortable working with financial data from multiple sources and independently investigating discrepancies.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines.
- Demonstrates a proactive mindset towards emerging technologies, including AI, and is willing to adopt and integrate appropriate AI tools into day-to-day finance, reporting, and data-related work to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Able to work independently, take ownership of assigned matters, and follow issues through to resolution with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across different functions.
- Highly adaptable and comfortable with changing processes, systems, and responsibilities as the business undergoes transformation.
- Comfortable participating in accounting system migration and process improvement initiatives.
- This is a Singapore-based role, and candidates must be able to work under the company's hybrid working arrangement.
