Senior Accounting Executive

Job Description:

• Handle full sets of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and relevant schedules.
• Manage accounting for trading transactions, including purchases, sales, inventory and cost of goods sold.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory and inter-company balances.
• Handle foreign currency transactions and perform foreign exchange revaluation.
• Prepare GST calculations and support GST submissions.
• Prepare cash flow reports and monitor the company's cash position.
• Review invoices, payment requests, receipts and supporting documents.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bank sand other external parties.
• Assist with annual audit and tax matters.
• Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards(SFRS).
• Assist management with financial analysis, budgeting and other ad-hoc finance projects
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and reporting.

Job Requirements:

• Advance Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent is an advantage.
• 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a trading, distribution, wholesale or similar environment.
• Accounting & Financial Reporting - Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
• Attention to Detail & Accuracy - High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial transactions, reconciliations, and accounting records.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to analyse financial information, identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and provide appropriate solutions.
• Commodity Trading Awareness - Understanding of trading transactions, inventory, trade settlements, trading costs, and P&L is an advantage.
