Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage full-set accounts, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee and perform timely month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports in compliance with IFRS/SFRS standards.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax regulations and corporate governance standards.
  • Prepare and submit Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns and other tax filings accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities provide audit schedules and supporting documentation as required.
  • Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances to ensure proper consolidation and reporting.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support business planning, decision-making, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
  • Support senior management with financial insights, reporting, and ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Supervise and guide junior accounting staff where applicable

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably handling full-set accounts and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/SFRS and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with GST preparation and submission, tax compliance, and audit coordination.
  • Solid understanding of General Ledger, AP/AR processes, bank reconciliation, and intercompany transactions.
  • Experience in month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements.
  • Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP). Experience with SAP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with auditors, tax agents, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and internal controls.
