Perform monthly closing for JERAGM and consolidation process to ensure accurate and timely group and statutory reporting
Perform monthly reconciliations between accounting profit and loss against Middle Office profit and loss. Identify and evaluate discrepancies for necessary adjustments
Manage quarterly consolidation under JERATI and group reporting to the main shareholder in Japan
Prepare consolidation packs and ensure proper translation of relevant schedules for submission to JERA
Oversee accounting and reporting for key holding and operating entities:
JERA Trading International (JERATI) (Singapore)
JERA Global Markets Holdings (HoldCo) (United Kingdom)
JERAGM Services (Japan) and liaising with its accounting team for the monthly reporting
JERAGM Netherlands
Support JERAGM Japan with monthly reporting coordination
Act as the liaison between JERAGM Group and JERA for reporting, consolidation and any other queries
Work closely with the auditors for JERA Group Audit and manage audits for JERATI and HoldCo
Coordinate with JERAGM internal teams, JERA teams and external service provider (Japanese IT vendor and accounting professionals in Japan)
Identify and make improvements to process and internal controls
Support Financial Controller/Financial Reporting Manager on ad-hoc duties as assigned
Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with trading standards and other compliance requirements
Collaborate with other professionals and lead to support overall Finance goals and objectives
Work outside of normal business hours may be required at times
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional degree
At least 7 years of relevant experience in Finance and Accounting
Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1) or similar is required as this role requires to act as a liaison between Japanese stakeholders, both at working and management levels
Solid technical accounting background is preferred, ideally with exposure to derivative accounting in the commodity trading business
Experience with Sun, Horizon and DIVA (consolidated accounting system) is an advantage
Good IT and spreadsheet skills
Able to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong initiative and accountability
Able to manage multiple priorities and work well under time pressure
Self-starter and fast learner
Hands-on, analytical, strong attention to details and conscientious
Collaborative team player with good verbal and written communication skills in English, able to work effectively with people at all levels
