We are supporting a global technology company with a requirement for a Senior Accountant to provide short-term interim support (36 months) within their APAC finance team based in Singapore.

This role will act as the Japan finance point of contact while supporting broader APAC reporting activities in a fast-paced multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary finance liaison for Japan-related accounting matters within the APAC team

Manage Japan statutory reporting, accounting compliance timelines, and financial controls

Coordinate with external service providers and Japan-based stakeholders on local finance operations

Review statutory financial information and ensure alignment between IFRS and Japan GAAP reporting

Support month-end close, APAC reporting cycles, and audit-related activities

Perform variance analysis and assist in resolving reporting issues across entities

Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal, and regional Finance teams on operational matters

Requirements

5+ years of accounting experience within a multinational environment

Strong understanding of IFRS and exposure to Japan GAAP / Japan statutory reporting

Business-level Japanese (spoken and written) and strong English communication skills

Experience working with external auditors, tax agents, or outsourced accounting providers

Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline (CPA / CA preferred)

Advanced Excel and ERP system exposure

Candidates must be based in Singapore and able to work without visa sponsorship
