Senior Accountant/ Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a qualified and motivated professional to join our Finance team as Senior Accountant/ Assistant Finance Manager. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager on daily Finance operations matters, closing process and schedules, monthly management reports generation, budgeting and forecasting. The role will also include compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial management accounts (including accounting for projects under Percentage of Completion method), journal entries and supporting schedules.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and audit schedules.

• Reconcile intercompany balances including billings and payments.

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements, corporate policies and internal controls.

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide financial information and analysis to support business operations.

• Support process improvement initiatives and system-related projects where required.

• Cash flow management including preparation of cash flow reports.

• Prepare GST returns and support corporate tax computation requirements.

• Prepare reports and analyses for management and other internal or external stakeholders.

• Liaise with auditors, tax agents and other external stakeholders

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including vendor payments, customer collections, cash application, banking transactions and account reconciliations.

• Assist in supervising and providing guidance to finance team members across other subsidiaries.

• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirement

• Degree in Accountancy or other professional accounting qualifications.

• At least 8 years of relevant finance experience.

• Experience in construction or engineering businesses is highly advantageous.

• Hands-on, attention to detail, with the ability to work independently.

• Good understanding of Singapore Corporate tax and GST.

• Experience with Globe 3 or other accounting systems will be an advantage.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Meticulous, organized and able to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Able to work independently while being an effective team player.

• Energetic and able to work well in a fast-paced, high work volume, results-oriented, collaborative environment.
