Job Description Summary
The Senior Technician plays a dual role as both a hands-on technical expert and a team lead. This position is responsible for leading technicians to achieve production targets while performing complex mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities.
The role requires strong mechanical & electrical expertise, leadership capability, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining strict workmanship, safety, and performance standards. The Senior Technician also collaborates closely with Engineering and supports new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
(Leadership & Production Management)
- Lead technicians to ensure timely completion of production plans
- Monitor and report shift production status
- Maintain and improve workmanship standards
- Support workforce flexibility through cross-training and skill development
(Technical & Assembly Execution)
- Assemble, align, calibrate, level, and integrate complex mechanical systems
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, electrical schematics, and manufacturing manuals
- Troubleshoot electrical controls using diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter, amp meter)
- Inspect parts and sub-assemblies to ensure compliance with strict dimensional and quality standards
(Engineering & Continuous Improvement)
- Work closely with Engineering on product development and high-volume production activities
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) builds
- Lead or contribute to Lean/Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support resolution of quality-related issues
