Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Security System Supervisor to carry out and supervise the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of security systems and electrical works.

This is a hands-on supervisory position. The successful candidate must be technically competent, able to perform installation and troubleshooting personally, and capable of leading technicians on site.

Key Responsibilities

Security System Works

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain security systems, including:Door access control systemsCard and RFID access systemsKeypad and PIN access systemsBiometric and fingerprint systemsElectromagnetic locks and electric strikesCCTV systemsIP cameras and related equipmentIntercom and video intercom systemsSecurity alarm systemsExit buttons and emergency break-glass unitsAccess controllers and power supplies
  • Carry out cabling, termination, testing and commissioning.
  • Diagnose faults involving wiring, power supplies, controllers, readers, locks, cameras and other security equipment.
  • Configure and test security systems after installation.
  • Replace defective components and restore systems to proper working condition.

Electrical Works

  • Carry out electrical installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance works.
  • Install and replace wiring, switches, sockets, isolators and related electrical components.
  • Carry out electrical and power wiring required for security systems.
  • Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
  • Ensure electrical works are completed safely and according to company standards and applicable requirements.

Site Supervision

  • Lead and supervise technicians and workers on site.
  • Conduct site inspections and determine suitable technical solutions.
  • Plan the manpower, materials, tools and equipment required for each job.
  • Assign work to technicians and monitor job progress.
  • Check workmanship and ensure installations meet company quality standards.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning before handing over completed works.
  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, building management and other parties where required.
  • Ensure proper safety procedures and site housekeeping are followed.

Technical & Operations Support

  • Provide technical support to the operations and customer service teams.
  • Assist in determining the appropriate solution and equipment for customer requirements.
  • Prepare material and equipment requirements for projects.
  • Troubleshoot difficult cases that junior technicians are unable to resolve.
  • Train and guide junior technicians.
  • Identify recurring technical problems and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain proper documentation of completed works, testing results and outstanding issues.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in security systems, electrical works, ELV systems or related technical fields.
  • Strong hands-on installation and troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience with door access control systems and CCTV systems.
  • Good understanding of electrical wiring and low-voltage systems.
  • Able to read basic electrical and wiring diagrams.
  • Able to use electrical and security-system testing equipment.
  • Able to independently diagnose technical problems and recommend solutions.
  • Able to supervise, train and guide technicians.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Responsible and able to manage multiple jobs and sites.
  • Relevant electrical, security-system or technical qualifications will be an advantage.
  • Valid driving licence will be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is both a strong hands-on technician and an effective supervisor.

The Security System Supervisor should be able to receive a job, conduct the site inspection, diagnose the problem, determine the correct solution, plan the required manpower and materials, lead the installation or repair work, troubleshoot problems and ensure the completed system is properly tested before handing it over to the customer.

The person should be capable of taking responsibility for a security-system job from site inspection through to final completion, without requiring constant technical guidance from management.
