About the Role
As a Security Officer at our client's premier retail sites, you will be the frontline ambassador for safety and customer service. You will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment for shoppers, tenants, and visitors while operating advanced surveillance systems and responding to diverse onsite situations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain Onsite Security: Conduct regular patrols of retail floors, carparks, and back-of-house areas to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Monitor Surveillance Systems: Station at the Fire Command Centre (FCC) to oversee mall surveillance, monitor CCTV feeds, and coordinate responses to any irregularities.
- Access Control & Crowd Management: Manage entry points and monitor visitor flow, especially during high-traffic periods or special events.
- Incident Response: Act as a first responder to incidents such as medical emergencies, shoplifting cases, or security breaches, following established protocols and documenting clear reports.
- Customer Engagement: Provide a professional presence, assisting shoppers with inquiries and ensuring a positive visitor experience.
Requirements
Minimum/Core Requirements:
- Eligibility to obtain a Private Security Industry (PLRD) license; the company provides full sponsorship and training for those without a current license.
- Ability to commit to a 12-hour rotating shift roster (4-on/2-off), including both day and night shifts.
- Proficiency in English to effectively assist shoppers and prepare clear incident reports.
- A professional and customer-centric mindset suitable for a premier retail environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of discipline.
Preferred/Bonus Requirements:
- Possession of a valid PLRD Security Officer license and completed WSQ security modules.
- Prior experience in retail, hospitality, or customer-facing roles.
- Interest in career progression toward leadership roles such as Senior Security Officer or Team Lead.
