Job Description
Security Officer- Duties and Responsibilities
General Screening
- Screening people/staff/vehicle seeking entry
- Person and properties checks
Guarding & Patrolling
- Guard properties, preventing thefts
- Clocking routes
- Check for leaks and signs of fire/smoke
- Check and prevent entry of unauthorised people/staff
- Check that Security system/equipment are working and not tampered with
- Check that exits are clear and secured and doors/windows secured
- Turn off unnecessary light/taps
- Note and report abnormalities
- Check perimeter fences/walls for wear and tear or forced opened/entry
- Manage vehicle parking allocation
- Check lighting is in working order
- Ensure loading bay doors and good lifts are secure when not in use
Access & Egress Control
- Control entry & exits
- Conduct identity check and pass exchange
- Authorised access to staff and visitors
- Operate gates, door and barriers
- Supervise car park and loading/unloading bay
- Traffic control within client premises
- Maintain access control records
- Escort visitors
Basic Incident Response
- Respond to & report alarms
- Respond to & report to fire related incidents
- Respond to & report crimes or public order incidents
- Respond to & report suspicious persons, belongings vehicles
- Respond to & report medical emergencies
- Respond to & report bomb or terrorist treats
- Respond to & report lift breakdown, power failure
- Respond to & report burst water pipe/leaking or ruptured sprinklers
Senior Security Officer- Duties and Responsibilities
Manage Security & Safety Systems
- Manage Central Alarm Monitoring System
- Manage fire control systems
- Manage lift system
- Manage car park system
Fire Command centre
- Monitor CCTV and centralised Alarm monitoring
- Maintain CCTV storage libraries
- Preserve evidence
- Assist Police & enforcement
- Assist agencies in enforcement
- Key Press management
Security Supervisor- Duties and Responsibilities
Incident Management & Reporting
- Respond to & report complex or large scale safety and security incidents
- Investigate security incidents
- Assist in evacuation.
Study security operations procedures
- Retrieve and study security operations procedures
- Record relevant information for site inspection
- List details of security operations procedures and formulate site inspection checklist
- Ensure safety, security and confidentiality for all information
Supervise control of security officers
- Brief security officers on organisational procedures to be adopted during emergencies
- Check security duties to ensure they are performed in accordance
- Monthly roster planning and daily deployment.
Direct Supervision
- Supervise and direct security personnel
- Conduct team briefing and debriefing
- Schedule security officer duties effectively
- Allocate security officer duties and responsibilities in a fair and equitable manner
