Job Description
Help a student go from I'm just not a Math person to I know how to do this.
Learning Brews is hiring a full-time Secondary Math Teacher at our Kovan centre, 1028A Upper Serangoon Road, Singapore 534766.
At Learning Brews, we coach.
We coach students individually within small groups of up to six. Students may work on different topics and assignments in the same session, according to their own learning needs. This is not a whole-class lesson where everyone is taught the same topic at the same time.
Your role is to notice where each student gets stuck, understand why, and guide their next step. You'll keep track of completed work, unfinished assignments, corrections and what needs to happen next, so each session builds on the last.
Conscious Education: care for how the student learns
Our care extends to students learning attitudes, habits and behaviour. We pay attention to how they approach a difficult question, respond to mistakes, follow through on corrections and ask for help. You'll help students become more aware of how they learn, take ownership of their work and build confidence through progress. Patience, careful observation and consistent follow-through are central to this role.
You'll work with Teacher Kangie and learn our approach to diagnosing mistakes, planning individual learning paths and explaining Math clearly. Teaching experience is welcome, but it is not required. Passion for Math and helping young people grow, strong subject knowledge and a willingness to learn matter to us.
Working with AI and our learning systems
Teacher Kangie uses AI tools and custom apps built with AI for work such as tracking students progress and generating worksheets. You'll need to be willing and able to learn these tools, adapt as our systems develop, and use them in your daily work. This includes keeping records accurate and checking generated questions, solutions and materials before using them with students. Your judgment and attention to each student remain essential.
What you'll do
• Coach Secondary Math, including Elementary and Additional Mathematics, onsite at Kovan.
• Guide students working on different topics or at different stages within the same session.
• Plan each student's next steps and track assignments, corrections, completion and understanding.
• Identify misconceptions and help students understand why a method works.
• Notice and record relevant learning attitudes, habits and behaviour, then follow through with supportive coaching.
• Use our AI tools and apps to support tracking, worksheet preparation and individual learning plans.
• Put feedback into practice and keep improving your coaching.
What we're looking for
• Strong Math knowledge and a passion for helping students learn and grow.
• Patience with students who need repeated explanations, encouragement or time to rebuild foundations.
• Clear explanations and the ability to connect with teenagers.
• Warmth alongside clear expectations for students.
• Careful observation, accurate record-keeping and reliable follow-through.
• Willingness and ability to adapt to AI tools, custom apps and evolving ways of working.
• Openness to lesson observation, specific feedback and trying a different approach.
• Availability for the full schedule below, including both weekend days.
Career-switchers and applicants new to teaching are welcome. You'll have opportunities to demonstrate both your Math knowledge and how you respond to coaching during the selection process.
Working hours
• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 1pm–9:45pm, with a dinner break from 6:30pm–7:30pm.
• Saturday and Sunday: 9am–6pm, with a lunch break from 1pm–2pm.
• Monday and Friday: off.
This is a full-time, onsite position. Both Saturday and Sunday are working days.
Pay
S$3,200–S$4,200 per month. Starting salary will reflect the skills and teaching potential demonstrated during the selection process. Probation is 2–3 months.
