Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with strong JIRA expertise who can also take on Project Management responsibilities. The role requires balancing Agile facilitation and governance with delivery management, planning, and reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
This role is ideal for programs where Agile delivery requires strong execution control, stakeholder reporting, and dependency management.
Key Responsibilities
Scrum Master Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Agile/Scrum ceremonies:
- Daily standups
- Sprint planning
- Backlog grooming
- Sprint reviews & retrospectives
- Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement.
- Remove impediments and proactively manage team blockers.
- Ensure adherence to Scrum framework while adapting to enterprise constraints.
- Enable highperforming, selforganizing teams.
Project Management Responsibilities
- Own endtoend delivery tracking for assigned projects/squads.
- Manage scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, and issues (RAID).
- Drive milestone planning, release planning, and delivery commitments.
- Provide regular status reporting to stakeholders and leadership.
- Coordinate with multiple teams, vendors, and onshore/offshore stakeholders.
- Support budget tracking and effort forecasting where applicable.
JIRA & Reporting
- Own and administer JIRA boards (Scrum/Kanban).
- Ensure user stories, tasks, and defects are accurately tracked and up to date.
- Track and analyze velocity, burndown, throughput, and sprint metrics.
- Generate dashboards and reports for delivery, risks, and performance trends.
- Ensure traceability from requirements to delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
- Strong handson experience with JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience performing Project Manager / Delivery Manager responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and SDLC.
- Experience managing distributed and crossfunctional teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflictresolution skills.
Good to Have
- Experience in Banking / BFSI / Enterprise IT programs.
- Exposure to hybrid Agile-Waterfall delivery models.
- Understanding of DevOps / CICD concepts.
- Experience working with clientfacing or regulated environments.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) / Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
- PMP / PRINCE2 / SAFe (nice to have).
