Scientist Manager, Toxicology, Personal Health Care

Overview of the role

Personal Health Care is a rapidly growing and exciting business that includes medicines, OTC products and food supplements. P&G's Personal Health Care business has an aggressive plan for growth, desiring to reach more consumers with outstanding health and wellness products via the introduction of new brands and products from a strong innovation pipeline and the expansion of existing products.

We are looking for a motivated individual to provide product safety leadership for our Personal Health Care business in Asia. The role will involve preparation of safety assessments to support Personal Health Care products and ingredients from innovation through to launch, alongside development of product safety capability. Your Team

Located at the P&G Singapore Innovation Center at Biopolis, you will work closely with a diverse and global team of technical specialists. You will have the opportunity work in multi-functional teams and externally support P&G representation to government agencies, industry associations and technical organizations.

How does success look like

You will be the primary owner of category product safety knowledge, including key technologies, potential safety concerns, relevant habits & practices data, safety-related external issues, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Support current and upstream R&D and business initiatives for Personal Health Care in one or more categories, on a regional and global basis
• Accountable for category product knowledge including key technologies/ingredients, potential safety concerns relevant to regions where products are to be distributed and/or sold, in market safety profile, external concerns and regulatory constraints in a Health Care context, covering oral, inhalation, injection and topical products.
• Development of safety assessments for pharmaceutical actives and other ingredients used in P&G's Personal Health Care portfolio.
• Develop safety related information for our internal and external business partners, consumers, and medical professionals on our major brands in Personal Health Care. This will involve evaluation of the question or concern, partnering with other experts across multiple functions to establish an appropriate safety strategy and development of a safety risk assessment to fully address the need.
• Preparation of safety assessments to support products and ingredients during product development to post marketing.
• Additional responsibilities involve developing specific technical expertise, knowledge and methodologies for safety risk assessment for communication with academic, professional or regulatory communities.
• Working effectively across multiple functions providing strategic insights to the business and represent safety as well as with external scientists and regulators.

Job Qualifications

• PhD in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Toxicology preferred an equivalent Biomedical or Life Sciences related qualification will be considered.
• Working knowledge of the effects of drugs, chemicals, biological materials, etc. on biological pathways.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in order to convey positions clearly and explain complex technical issues to a variety of internal customers as well as to external organizations
• Ability to collaborate efficiently and build positive relationships with a variety of partners across functions, regionally and globally
• Proactive and agile project leadership, troubleshooting and solution-driving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with people from different cultures and levels, both internally and externally.
