Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory is seeking a Scientist to perform, validate, and interpret high-complexity molecular diagnostic testing using quantitative PCR (qPCR) and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies. The role is responsible for ensuring that all laboratory activities are conducted in compliance with CAP, CLIA, and applicable local regulatory requirements, while delivering accurate, reliable, and timely patient results.

The Scientist will play a key role in the development, validation, and clinical implementation of new assays and testing workflows. Responsibilities include designing and optimizing laboratory workflows, preparing standard operating procedures (SOPs), establishing quality control and acceptance criteria, developing validation protocols, executing validation studies, analyzing validation data, and preparing validation reports. The role also involves training and mentoring technical personnel to support the successful adoption of new testing methodologies within a regulated clinical laboratory environment.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead the molecular assay development and validation efforts in a clinical service lab setting.
• Demonstrate hand-on leadership to successfully implement validated LDTs or IVDs in the laboratory.
• Design, plan and execute validation tests, establish QC criteria, write validation plan and report.
• Lead the SOP writing and technology transfer to the clinical operations team
• Propose and implement process improvements and EQA
• Work closely with other Scientists and Product Managers to provide scientific inputs related to company products and testing services.
• Support other commercial activities as required.

Desired Skills & Competencies

• Candidate is expected to have advanced research degree (MSc or PhD) in molecular biology or related field. Experiences in oncology or infectious disease are preferred.
• Strong understanding and working experiences on qPCR and NGS technologies is highly desirable.
• Experience in developing and implementing new molecular assays in a clinical laboratory is an added advantage.
• Be a hands-on person who welcomes challenges, works independently or as part of a team, and can communicate effectively at all levels
