Science Laboratory Technician cum Teaching Assistant

Job Description

• Prepare materials, specimens and equipment for science lessons and practical tests.
• Set up, test and assist with science experiments and practical lessons.
• Clean, maintain and organise laboratories, equipment and storage areas.
• Ensure laboratory safety, proper chemical labelling, storage and disposal.
• Maintain inventory records and assist with procurement and deliveries.
• Care for plants, living specimens and indoor hydroponic systems.
• Support Science Department activities and school programmes.
• Report to the Head of Department (Science).
• No overtime pay provided.

Requirements

• GCE O Level with passes in Science subjects, or Nitec/Higher Nitec in a science-related field.
• Basic knowledge of scientific apparatus and simple experimental setups.
• Able to handle reagents safely.
• Prior school laboratory experience is an advantage fresh graduates are welcome.
• Responsible, safety-conscious and well-organised.
• Good communication and housekeeping skills.
• Punctual, reliable and able to work independently.
• Adaptable, willing to learn and physically fit for laboratory duties
