Science Lab Technician School Marine Parade

Job Summary

Support daily operations and maintenance of science laboratories, gardens, and related facilities while preparing materials and assisting with events to ensure smooth educational activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating and maintaining science laboratories, science gardens, aquaponics, hydroponics, and pond systems to support educational activities
• Set up, clean, and perform general maintenance of science laboratories and related areas to ensure a safe and functional environment
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the Recycling Corner to promote sustainability practices
• Prepare laboratory apparatus, equipment, and teaching materials ahead of scheduled activities to facilitate smooth sessions
• Conduct stock-taking and maintain equipment to ensure availability and proper functioning
• Type worksheets and notes using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to support departmental documentation and communication
• Assist in organizing and supporting departmental events, activities, and programmes to enhance student engagement
• Perform gardening duties such as weeding, planting, and watering to maintain healthy science garden environments

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• More than 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position to demonstrate capability in managing science-related facilities
• Experience working in a school environment to understand educational context and requirements
