Working Hours:
- Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Lab Technician/ Assistant
- Relevant experience as a Lab Technician/ Assistant in a primary school setting is highly advantageous
Desirable Qualities of Personnel:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with teachers, students and other stakeholders.
- Able to read, write and converse in English
- Well-organised, meticulous and detailed in carrying out tasks
Job Scopes:
- Maintain general cleanliness and functionality of the Science labs and equipment.
- Monitor and manage stock-taking of equipment and Science resource materials.
- Maintain a catalogue of lab resources to assist teachers in planning of Science activities.
- Prepare lab materials/resources to ensure experiment is carried out effectively.
- Assist in the preparation of apparatus and equipment for lessons.
- Assist teachers when experiments are carried out during lessons.
- Keep a log on loaning and returning of apparatus by teachers.
- Sit in during Science Olympiad lessons.
- Any other jobs assigned by the department - administrative work which include collation of teaching and learning materials and preparation of resources necessary for teaching and learning in Science, helping during Science Practical Assessments.
