Science Lab Assistant Lorong Chuan

Mon to Fri: 7.15 am to 2.15 pm

Key Roles

• Prepare materials, apparatus, and specimens for Science lessons and annual practical tests

• Set up and test experimental apparatus before lessons assist teachers during practicals, tests, and demonstrations

• Dismantle and clean up after lessons store equipment properly

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of laboratories, preparation rooms, and storage areas

• Wash laboratory apparatus, glassware, and equipment after use

• Ensure equipment and facilities are well-maintained and in working condition

• Assist in pest control, ventilation, and general upkeep of laboratory areas

• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines keep SDS for chemicals and ensure proper labelling

• Assist in safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals and biological waste

• Conduct simple stock-taking and update inventory records regularly

• Prepare and propose procurement of science materials and equipment to HOD/LH Science

• Receive and verify delivery of items ordered ensure proper storage

• Maintain life stocks (plants, living specimens) used in Science lessons

• Maintain and monitor indoor hydroponic system support upkeep of garden green spaces

• Assist teachers in preparing materials for teaching/learning and recess programme activities

Requirements

• GCE O Level OR Nitec/Higher Nitec in a science-related discipline

• Competent in handling reagents and simple experimental set-ups

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Good housekeeping and cleaning practices
