Science Lab Assistant #Cedar

Working Hour

• Mondays to Fridays: 7.00 am to 4.30 pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Key Roles

• Support inquiry-based learning in Science.

• Ensure the smooth operation of two science laboratories, with an emphasis on enabling hands-on science learning.

• Assist teachers in preparing materials and apparatus for science practical lessons and assessments.

• Manage, operate, care for, and maintain the science laboratories and related science learning environments (e.g., school garden and science corners).

• Source and procure equipment and materials, maintain an inventory list of consumables, and track stock levels.

• Take responsibility for laboratory safety, and be available to serve as a certified first aider if required.

• Assist with logistics for classes, workshops, and other events.

• Support and supervise the safe use of laboratory tools.

• Provide administrative support as directed by the school.

Skills and Experience

The personnel shall minimally possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Nitec Diploma or GCE O Level Certificate

• At least 2 years of relevant experience as a laboratory technician in a primary school

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred

• Ability to handle live specimens (e.g., insects) and chemicals
