Duration of Service
Contract Period: 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027 (12 months)
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
- Mondays to Friday : 7:00AM to 4.00PM inclusive of 45 mintues lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
- The working hours may be adjusted as necessary to meet the operational needs of the school.
Scope of Services
The Services required are set out as follows:
Daily Duties
- Preparation of equipment and / or teaching and learning aids for experiments conducted by teachers and students from Primary 3 to Primary 6
- Replenishing items that are consumed e.g. limewater, iodine, paper towels, hand soap
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all Science labs and preparation rooms and science equipment
- Maintain the Science garden e.g. Basic planting and maintenance, daily watering of plants and clearing of stagnant water in flower pots etc
- Ensure the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced and that everything is clearly and correctly labelled
- Prepare teaching resources and equipment required for CCA and E2K sessions weekly. 2-2
Other Duties
- Maintaining the equipment e.g. microscopes and other dataloggers in the Science Labs are in good working order
- Assisting the Head of Department and Subject Head to liaise with vendors.
- Assisting in Science activities e.g. Science week activities and other adhoc administrative activities such as keying in of inventory items.
- Assisting Science teachers in conducting laboratory activities.
- Providing frontline reception services by attending to walk- in parents, students, staff and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Attend to student who are unwell or injured , providing basic care and first aid necessary and escalating cases to the approporaite achool personnel in accordance with school procedures.
Qualification Skill & Experience
Personnel
The Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Possession of a valid and current First Aid certification (Standard or Child First Aid) is preferred.
- Preferably holds a minimum qualification of GCE O Level or equivalent.
- Proficient in the English language and possesses adequate knowledge of Science.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Preferably has at least three (3) years of relevant experience working as a Science Laboratory Assistant in a primary school environment.
- Resourceful in preparing teaching and learning aids using existing materials to support students exploration during laboratory work, contributing to cost savings.
- Comfortable working in a school environment with children aged 7 12 years.
- Possesses a pleasant personality and the ability to work effectively within a team.
