The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position ofResearch Fellow. This role will support an interdisciplinary research programme on the development of photo(electro)chemical methods for energy and environmental applications. It will help to advance research excellence in Sustainable Earth, one of the key pillars of research in NTU, and also strengthen the collaborations between CCEB and academia and industry in Malaysia.
The Research Fellow will take on a significant role in research about photo(electro)catalysis for energy and environmental applications, training of graduate and undergraduate students and maintenance of key instruments. The Research Fellow is also responsible for drafting reports, papers and proposals, as well as coordinating collaborations across multiple research institutes.
Key Responsibilities:
Synthetic research in heterogeneous photocatalysis for energy/environmental applications
Characterisation of novel materials
Development of photoelectrochemical systems
Maintenance of key instruments
Training of Ph.D. students, undergraduate researchers, and exchange students
Administrative duties, e.g. purchase of chemicals and equipment
Presentation of research and outreach
Drafting reports, papers, and proposals
Coordinate collaborations
Job Requirements:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field
At least 5 years of relevant experiences in similar role / technical hands-on experience in photocatalysis, photoelectrocatalysis, materials synthesis and characterisation
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in synthesis, materials characterisation, electrochemistry, photoreactions
Competent in Microsoft Office suite, Origin and software for processing scientific data
Ability to work independently
Able to develop solutions under strict timelines
